🎵 Adding Songs to Your Band
Learn all the ways to add songs to your band's repertoire, from individual entry to bulk imports.
Method 1: Add Songs Individually
- Go to your band page
- Click "Songs" tab or "Add Song" button
- Fill in song details:
- Title and Artist
- Key and Tempo (BPM)
- Genre and Sub-genre
- Vocalist (if applicable)
- Notes and tags
- Click "Add Song"
Method 2: Import from Google Doc
- Format your Google Doc with page breaks between songs
- Make the document publicly viewable
- From your band page, click "Import from Google Doc"
- Paste the Google Doc URL
- Review the extracted songs and confirm

Method 3: Import from Google Spreadsheet
- Create a spreadsheet with columns: Song, Artist, Key, BPM, etc.
- Make the spreadsheet publicly viewable
- From your band page, click "Import from Google Doc"
- Paste the Google Spreadsheet URL
- Review and confirm the import
Adding Links to Songs
Once a song is added, you can enhance it with links:
- Audio Links - MP3, M4A, WAV files for reference recordings
- YouTube Links - Performance videos or tutorials
- MIDI Links - Backing tracks or MIDI files
- PDF Links - Chord charts, lead sheets, or tabs
- Spotify/Apple Music - Streaming links
Creating Gig Documents
For any song, you can create:
- Chord Charts - Formatted chord progressions with sections
- Lyrics Sheets - Text-only lyrics documents
- Combined Documents - Chords and lyrics together
These documents are accessible in Rehearsal View and Music Stand View.
Song Recordings
You can record individual songs using Quick Record:
- Go to Quick Record → Select your band → Choose "Record a Song"
- Select the song you want to record
- Record your performance
- After recording, you can normalize, trim, and promote as a reference recording
Promoting Recordings
After recording a song, you can:
- Promote to Reference Recording - Makes it the default audio link for that song
- Add to Album - Include it in a published album
- Trim - Edit start/end points for perfect timing
- Normalize - Adjust volume levels for consistent playback
Private vs. Public Songs
Songs can be:
- Public - Visible to all users, can be added to any band
- Private - Only visible to your band, perfect for originals or arrangements
Tips for Success
- Add complete information (key, tempo) - it helps with setlist organization
- Use consistent naming - makes searching easier
- Add links early - audio and video help you prepare
- Create gig documents for songs you perform regularly
- Tag songs with genres and moods for better filtering
