Learn how to quickly capture musical ideas and sketches using The Band Plan's Ideas feature.

What Are Ideas?

Ideas are quick recordings for capturing musical inspiration:

  • Musical sketches and rough ideas
  • Song fragments and riffs
  • Practice recordings
  • Quick voice memos

Recording an Idea

  1. Go to Quick Record (/quick-record)
  2. Select your band
  3. Choose "Record New Idea"
  4. Click "Continue to Recording"
  5. Grant microphone permission
  6. Record your idea
  7. Stop when finished
  8. Upload or save for later

Managing Ideas

View and manage your ideas:

  • Go to your band page
  • Click "Ideas" section
  • See all recorded ideas
  • Play, download, or delete ideas

Developing Ideas into Songs

Turn ideas into full songs:

  1. Review your ideas regularly
  2. When ready, create a new song
  3. Add the idea recording as an audio link
  4. Develop the idea into a complete song
