📋 Creating Setlists
Learn how to build setlists for your gigs and rehearsals, organize songs into sets, and use setlists effectively.
Creating a New Setlist
There are three ways to create a setlist:
Method 1: Create Empty Setlist
- Go to your band page
- Click "Create Setlist" button
- Enter a title (e.g., "Friday Night at The Venue" or "Rehearsal - March 2025")
- Optionally set a date
- Click "Create Setlist"
- Add songs manually (see "Adding Songs" below)
Method 2: Import from Google Doc (Quickset)
Quickly create a setlist by importing a Google Doc or Google Spreadsheet full of songs:
- Go to your band page
- Click "Create Setlist from Google Doc" or use the Quickset form
- Paste the URL of your Google Doc or Google Spreadsheet
- Make sure the document is set to "Anyone with the link can view"
- The system extracts all songs from the document
- Review the extracted songs on the confirmation page
- Confirm to create the setlist with all songs
- Songs are automatically added to your setlist in order
Method 3: Copy Existing Setlist
Start from a similar setlist:
- Go to an existing setlist
- Click "Copy Setlist"
- Give it a new name and date
- Modify songs as needed
Adding Songs to Your Setlist
On the setlist edit page, you'll see:
- Left Column: Your band's song repertoire (filterable)
- Right Column: Your setlist sets (Set 1, Set 2, etc.)
Adding Songs
- Use the search/filter to find songs in the left column
- Drag songs from the left to the right, or click to add them
- Drop them into the appropriate set (Set 1, Set 2, Encore, etc.)
- Drag songs within a set to reorder them
Organizing into Sets
You can organize songs into multiple sets:
- Set 1 - Your opening set
- Set 2 - Your second set
- Encore - Songs for encore
- Custom Sets - Create sets with any name (e.g., "Acoustic Set", "Dance Set")
Using Filters
When building setlists, use filters to find songs:
- By Key - Find songs in the same key for smooth transitions
- By Tempo - Group fast or slow songs together
- By Genre - Filter by musical style
- By Tag - Use custom tags you've created
- Search - Type to find specific songs
Maybe List
The "Maybe List" is perfect for:
- Songs you might play if time allows
- Backup songs if the crowd wants more
- Songs to consider for future setlists
Finalizing Setlists
When your setlist is ready:
- Review the order and sets
- Click "Finalize Setlist" to lock it
- Finalized setlists are preserved and can't be accidentally edited
- You can still create new versions if needed
Copying Setlists
Save time by copying existing setlists:
- Go to an existing setlist
- Click "Copy Setlist"
- Give it a new name and date
- Modify as needed for the new gig
